Three weeks after the Naga, Cebu landslide, NGCP successfully restored Line 2 of the 138kV Colon-Samboan affected by the catastrophe. Twenty-two days after Towers 9, 10, and 11 were toppled, the line was energized at 3:31PM today, with initial load of 35 MW.
A temporary bypass line was erected in a safer location with around 200 personnel consisting of line personnel, engineers, and other support specialists working on the clearing of the route, and the installation of the emergency restoration systems (ERS).
NGCP will now start to survey and assess alternative sites for the permanent relocation of the said line.
